Creative Club Brighton was born from a love of community and a desire to help people connect through mindfulness art and play.

What we do best is run engaging craft workshops. We provide all materials and host sessions with experienced teachers with expert guidance to inspire creativity, wellbeing and friendship.

Home Ed Art Club Summer Term (Juniors Age 7-13)

Get inspired and hands-on with a series of fun, guided art workshops designed for young creators. Each session includes a step-by-step instruction, creative examples, and all materials provided. Sessions start with a creative challenge or ice breaker to get students thinking about relevant topical subjects.

Children will make, play, and explore their creativity in a fully supervised, relaxed, and supportive environment. We run small class sizes (up to 8) and plenty of individual guidance to help every student shine.

Session time: Every Tuesday term time, 10.30-12.00pm (1.5 hr session)

Week 1 | Tuesday 14th April

Butterfly Hanging Mobiles
Create colourful butterfly mobiles using mixed materials to explore balance, colour, and movement.

Week 2 | Tuesday 21st April

Fridge Magnetic Monsters and Jewellery Making
Design playful monster magnets and create your own jewellery while experimenting with shape, pattern, and colour.

Week 3 | Tuesday 28th April

Spring Ceramics with Air-dry Clay
Model and decorate spring-themed clay sculptures including bunnies and chicks, learning basic ceramic techniques using air-dry clay.

Week 4 | Tuesday 5th May

Rainforest Frogs Relief with Pastels and Watercolour
Create textured frog artwork inspired by rainforest animals using relief techniques, oil pastels, and watercolour paint.

Week 5 | Tuesday 12th May

Rocket Wind Catcher
Build and decorate a rocket-themed wind catcher, exploring movement, colour and mixed media design.

Week 6 | Tuesday 19th May

Seaside Photo Frame Decoration & Beach Social

This will be the final session of the summer term and will take place as a special summer social for home educated students. Hosted at Whitecliffs Cafe in Saltdean, along the Sussex coast, students will decorate seaside-themed photo frames before enjoying time together at the beach.

Booking Information

Sessions can be booked as a 5 week half term course at £70 (£5 discount) or individual sessions for £15. Each weekly session is 90 minutes long (1.5hrs).

What To Expect

  • Students should wear clothes that they can be messy with

  • Water will be available on site

  • Drinks and sweet treats including pastries and cakes re available to purchase from the Puzzle Bored cafe

  • This is a fully supervised session with qualified teacher with DBS check

What Makes This Special?

We know that home education thrives on flexibility and comfort, which is why our sessions are designed to be relaxed, inclusive, and welcoming for both students and families.

While one child takes part in the workshop, siblings and parents are invited to enjoy the café space, complete with snacks, drinks, and a lovely selection of puzzles to play. It’s a calm, creative setting where everyone can unwind, connect, and feel at home.

Although we offer a supervised drop of service, parents and guardians are also welcome to join in with the activities! Whether you’d like to get hands-on or simply take a break and observe, our sessions are designed to work around you and your child’s educational needs.

About The Venue

Puzzle Bored is an inclusive venue, designed to support a neurodiverse-friendly environment with a welcoming space and understanding staff. We are happy to discuss any student concerns with parents to enable the best support for each child.

Get inspired with our relaxed, free-flowing art sessions designed for creatives who want to experiment, build skills, and develop their own artistic style.

Lessons are tailored to what students want to create, with opportunities to work towards a portfolio or formal art qualifications, including GCSE, A Level and NCFE private tutoring. This is a supportive, flexible space where you can explore ideas at your own pace and receive one-to-one guidance from a qualified art tutor.

Our tutor has extensive experience working with SEND students, including those with ASD, ADHD, and dyslexia, supporting each learner’s creative journey with understanding and confidence.

What to Expect

  • Free-flowing, student-led projects each week

  • Can work towards personal goals or qualifications

  • All materials provided

  • Fully supervised by a qualified, DBS-checked teacher

  • Drinks and treats available to purchase from the Puzzle Bored café

Art Qualification

Our NCFE-accredited Art & Design classes offer a flexible route to gaining recognised qualifications without external exams. Coursework is completed online, with the option to study from home or in our home ed classroom at your own pace. With full tutor support, in-person lessons, and feedback, students build creative portfolios that meet NCFE standards. We provide SEND-friendly resourced to make learning accessible for all. This is a Home Ed social for students from Brighton and Puzzle Bored class.

This will be the final session of the summer term and will take place as a special summer social for home educated students. Hosted at Whitecliffs Café in the heart of Saltdean Beach, students will decorate seaside-themed photo frames while enjoying time together in a relaxed coastal setting.

Breakfast brunch will be served during the session at the café. Please see dietary options when booking ticket. If you have any concerns, please email us in advance to inform us of any dietary requirements or serious allergies, so we can ensure appropriate arrangements are made.

After the session, parents and children are warmly invited to stay and enjoy the beach together.

Please note: Creative Club Brighton staff will supervise children only during the art activity at the café; parents are responsible for supervising their children on the beach.

Parking is available opposite the venue at the Saltdean Lido car park. There is also an easily accessible bus stop located directly outside the café, making it simple to travel by public transport.
