Home Education Kid's Art Club Late Winter Term (Juniors Age 7-13)

Get inspired and hands-on with a series of fun, guided art workshops designed for young creators. Each session takes inspiration from an iconic artist, with step-by-step instruction, creative examples, and all materials provided. Sessions start with a creative challenge or ice breaker to get students thinking about relevant topical subjects.

Children will make, play, and explore their creativity in a fully supervised, relaxed, and supportive environment. We run small class sizes (up to 8) and plenty of individual guidance to help every student shine.

Session time: Every Tuesday term time, 10.30-12.00pm (1.5 hr session)

Workshop Line-Up (2026)

Week 1 | Tuesday 6th January

Mixed Media Bird Collages (inspired by Megan Coyle)

Create colourful and textured bird collages inspired by Megan Coyle’s vibrant mixed-media style. We will layer patterned papers, bold shapes, and cut-out details to build lively animal characters.

Week 2 | Tuesday 13th January

Urban Cardboard Houses (inspired by Friedensreich Hundertwasser)

Design, build, and decorate imaginative cardboard houses inspired by city and urban life, featuring playful patterns, and quirky shapes in the style of Hundertwasser.

Week 3 | Tuesday 20th January

Textile Weaving (inspired by Rachel Meginnes)

Learn beginner weaving techniques and explore where materials come from. Create small woven pieces inspired by Rachel Meginnes using recycled materials.

Week 4 | Tuesday 27th January

Ceramic Sea Creatures (inspired by Alan Bennett)

Create expressive ceramic sea creatures out of air dry clay inspired by Alan Bennett’s playful aquatic forms. Includes a warm-up clay exercise to explore shapes and textures.

Week 5 | Tuesday 3rd February

Outer Space Hanging Mobiles (inspired by Peter Thorpe)

Design and create dynamic hanging mobiles working with felt and foam to create rockets, planets, stars, and moons. This session is inspired by Peter Thorpe’s bold, colourful outer space objects.

Week 6

Booking Information

Sessions are booked as a 5 week half term course at £70 (£5 discount) or £15 per weekly session.

Each session is 90 minutes long (1.5hrs).

What To Expect

  • Students should wear clothes that they can be messy with

  • Water will be available on site

  • Drinks and sweet treats including pastries and cakes re available to purchase from the Puzzle Bored cafe

  • This is a fully supervised session with qualified teacher with DBS check

What Makes This Special?

We know that home education thrives on flexibility and comfort, which is why our sessions are designed to be relaxed, inclusive, and welcoming for both students and families.

While one child takes part in the workshop, siblings and parents are invited to enjoy the café space, complete with snacks, drinks, and a lovely selection of puzzles to play. It’s a calm, creative setting where everyone can unwind, connect, and feel at home.

Although we offer a supervised drop of service, parents and guardians are also welcome to join in with the activities! Whether you’d like to get hands-on or simply take a break and observe, our sessions are designed to work around you and your child’s educational needs.
